Nerf Swarmfire Update

There have been a few very interesting developments in the Dart Tag line while I was away, so in the next few days I'm going to try and clear everything up- first with a timeline of the Swarmfire.
The new Dart Tag line was first rumoured with this video from Kevinericon back in November, with the unofficial name of the Dart Tag 20

Next the Dart Tag 20 popped up on eBay, with this product picture

In late November, Urban Taggers got hold of one and in early December confirmed this blaster to be called the Swarmfire

Urban Taggers once again got some exclusive information, with this image from an instruction manual, showing the Swarmfire and a mystery new dart tag blaster.

Then came the instruction manual in full!!!

And finally, a week ago, the Swarmfire official box art was released. Now all that's left is the official Nerf release. Stay tuned!!!

We're Back

Just got back from Singapore during to night- and I'm sorry to say I'm empty handed. After being promised Nerf in abundance, I only found Nerf in one store, and that only had Recons, Deploys, Barricades and Nite Finder. No Tactical Vests to be seen. Sorry to disappoint.

On the otherhand, Nerf launched into 2011 with a bang- and the official release of two of the new Dart Tag guns!!!

"Take your DART TAG game to the next level! This air-powered blaster lets you unleash a rapid-fire stream of 16 darts at your opponents to give you high-scoring performance. The integrated clip holds all 16 darts for super-fast loading and the pump-action handle lets you control the rate of fire. When your opponent is in sight, grab your QUICK 16 blaster and send your DART TAG darts flying — they’ll even whistle as they fly. Blast your way to victory!"

"Take your DART TAG game to the next level! This air-powered blaster lets you return fire fast with high-speed reloads! The integrated clip holds six darts and lets you load super-fast. When your opponent is in sight, grab your blaster and send your DART TAG darts flying — they’ll even whistle as they fly. Blast your way to victory!'

So it's official!!! The new Dart Tag blasters are among the most anticipated in Nerf history- and there coming fast.

Nerf Dart Tag Update

A new image of the unreleased Nerf Dart Tag Swarmfire...as well as another unreleased Nerf Dart Tag gun that resembles the Raider.

"Dart Tag line is going to be very different than the N-strike line. When N-Strike went for military and modular and standard clip fed, dart tag thrives on making the most different blasters. Therefore the new dart tag blasters look like clip-fed, but the clip is built-in, so no fast reload, but firing mechanism actually works like clip system."

Official info from Nerf!!! It's the first time Dart Tag has ever really interested me, as N-Strike is so awesome, but I'll keep my eye out for when the Swarmfire or the other mystery blaster hits the shelves!!

Nerf Dart Tag

This is just a quick review about the different Dart Tag guns that Nerf has produced. More indepth review to come if I get to test these guns.

 Nerf Crossfire
            Single shot blaster
            Holds 5 extra bullets
            Range 35 feet
            Has inverse tactical rail

Nerf Stormfire
           Large pistol-like single shot blaster
Is similar to a Nite Finder without the laser, and holds a bullet in the base of the handle
Is primed by pulling back the charging handle at the back of the blaster

Nerf Hyperfire
Holds 10 darts at the front of the blaster
          Is primed with a slide
High rate of fire and long range of around 30-40 feet
Dart's can pop-out of the barrels, but this doesn't occur as often with streamline darts

Nerf Furyfire
          Holds 10 darts
Similar to the Maverick in operation
          Good range of 35 feet
Is the new official Dart Tag blaster in Dart Tag leagues and organised competitions

OTHERS-
  • The Nerf Magstrike AS-10 is now an N-Strike gun, but was originally a Dart Tag set that came with a Magstrike, a vest and two clips, compared to the N-Strike version that comes with only one clip.
  • The Swarmfire (Dart Tag 20) looks to be released in the early months of 2011, though Nerf is yet to make an official announcement
  • The Quick 16 and Speedload 6 are both also rumoured for a release in the early months of 2011
